The Senior Laboratory Technologist Grade C/D at Kenyatta University is responsible for supporting academic and research activities within the department, specifically focusing on Medical Physiology and Biomedical Sciences. The role involves managing laboratory operations, assisting in the instruction of students, and ensuring the technical readiness of laboratory facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Instruction: Conduct physiological experiments for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring high standards of practical teaching.
Operational Management: Manage laboratory teaching schedules and logistics to ensure efficient use of resources.
Maintenance & Readiness: Oversee laboratory operations, ensure equipment is ready for use, and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of technical tools.
Research Support: Provide technical support for departmental research activities.
Administrative Duties: Maintain records and ensure adherence to laboratory protocols and safety standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in teaching, laboratory service, or research environments.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the relevant professional regulatory body.
ICT Skills: High proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for both teaching and research applications.
Laboratory Management: Strong skills in managing laboratory environments and resources.

Terms of Service
The terms of service include a competitive remuneration package comprising a basic salary, house allowance, medical cover as per the University Scheme, and leave allowance.
