Role Overview
The Senior Human Resources Officer provides Human Resources and administrative support to the KBL Warehouse team based in Ruaraka. This role is central to managing human capital within the warehouse operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and maintaining compliance with both Africa Global Logistics (AGL) and client-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition: Manage recruitment for all vacant positions within the KBL Warehouse team.
HR Procedures: Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, induction, separation, disciplinary actions, salary inputs, training, and performance appraisals.
Leave Management: Monitor staff leave to ensure business continuity and alignment with KPI targets for leave liability.
Employee Induction: Conduct inductions for new staff on AGL and client policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Labor Management: Coordinate with outsourced labor providers to meet staffing needs and verify subcontracted labor invoices/pay rates against attendance records.
Operational Support: Allocate staff and equipment based on planning schedules and monitor attendance via summary sheets to support invoicing.
Employee Relations: Manage disciplinary issues at the KBL site and represent HR in toolbox and works council meetings.
Administration: Oversee day-to-day HR administrative tasks such as filing, responding to staff queries, and ensuring the timely renewal of mandatory certificates.
Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on casual staff utilization, leave, turnover, discipline, and training.
Information Systems: Follow up on the creation and approval of system account details and email for new employees.
Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications and Profile
Education: Degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent field.
Professional Certification: CHRP certification is a mandatory requirement.
Professional Membership: Full Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
Experience: At least six (6) years of experience in a busy Supply Chain or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.
Legal Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Kenyan Labour Laws.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours across day or night shifts.
