Job Description
The National Council for Children’s Services (NCCS) is a State Corporation established under section 41 of the Children Act, 2022. The Council is mandated to regulate, coordinate, and oversight children's services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children. The Senior Corporate Communication Officer will play a vital role in managing the Council's public image and communication strategy. This involves implementing public relations programs, managing media engagement, and increasing public awareness of the Council's mandate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing media supplements, press releases, documentaries and articles.
Disseminating public awareness materials.
Implementing public communications and relations, strategies, programs and activities.
Carrying out public awareness programmes.
Organizing council’s planned events and functions.
Manning information desk services at publicity events and outreach forums.
Requirements for Appointment
Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the Communication Officer I or in a comparable position.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communications; Journalism; Public Relations; Public Relations and Marketing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or any other relevant professional body.
Proficiency in Computer Applications.
