Job Description
At M-KOPA, you'll own the full marketing mandate - brand strategy, creative direction, campaign execution, and marketing talent development across Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, and South Africa. You'll advance our "More Than a Phone" proposition, partner with Country GMs to shape how marketing is structured and governed across markets, and build the marketing function that powers M-KOPA's next phase of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will develop brand strategy, interrogate data and consumer insights, write briefs, evaluate creative, and optimize the media mix.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy: Manage CI guidelines, value proposition frameworks, and brand architecture across devices and digital product categories.
Product Launches: Define positioning, selling points, and campaign direction for hardware and digital product launches.
Packaging: Oversee device packaging end-to-end to meet retail, agent, and customer requirements while reflecting brand identity.
Multi-Market Campaigns: Direct ATL, BTL, in-trade, and digital execution (TV, radio, OOH, and experiential) across five key markets.
Digital Growth: Lead performance marketing, CPA targeting, content/video strategy, and website optimization.
Strategic Partnerships: Manage group agency relationships, including briefing, performance reviews, and contract oversight.
Measurement: Establish brand measurement frameworks to track sentiment, awareness, recall, and consideration using OKRs.

Requirements
10+ years in marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior group, regional, or multi-market leadership role.
Degree qualification (BA/BSc/HND).
Proven track record in building brand strategy in high-growth fintech, consumer services, or creative agency environments.
Experience in M-KOPA's core markets (Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa).
Strong ATL campaign craft and performance marketing credentials (funnel optimization, paid social on Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp).
Proven people leader with experience developing talent across different geographies.
Commercially fluent with budgeting and understanding marketing's contribution to business economics.
