The National Council for Children's Services (NCCS) is a State Corporation established under the Children Act, 2022. The Council is mandated to regulate, coordinate, and oversight children services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children. The Senior Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring that children's institutions and programmes adhere to national and international standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participating in reviewing and updating the monitoring tools for children’s institutions.
Participating in the preparation of inspection reports.
Participating in monitoring of adherence to set standards by children’s institutions.
Participating in reviewing of children programmes and policies in order to address emerging issues affecting children.
Disseminating standards on the care of displaced or unaccompanied children to stakeholders for implementation.
Assisting in monitoring the implementation of international and regional obligations relating to the rights and welfare of children.
Organizing training for stakeholders on the rights and welfare of children.
Assisting in the dissemination of laws, policies, and guidelines regarding the rights and welfare of children.
Carrying out advocacy, public education, and awareness campaigns.
Job Specification
A cumulative service period of six (6) years, three (3) of which must be at the grade of Compliance Officer I or in a comparable position.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Education, Sociology, Gender, Women and Development Studies, Gender and Development, Community Development, Counseling and Psychology, Sociology and Religious Studies, Sociology and Economics, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable.
Computer Proficiency.
