The Legal Specialist (French Speaker) will provide essential support for the day-to-day commercial contracting requirements of WIOCC's group operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing and managing contracts, requiring a commercially minded legal professional with high attention to detail and significant experience in commercial contracting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support the daily activities of the commercial contracts team.
Conduct KYC (Know Your Clients) and KYS (Know Your Supplier) reviews and assist in onboarding processes from a compliance and contracting perspective.
Review and advise on day-to-day contracting requirements, including standard and non-standard legal terms for purchase and sales orders.
Assist in creating contracting terms for non-standard commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with group business objectives and legal policies.
Negotiate contract terms with external clients and suppliers while maintaining group policies.
Support Contract Life Cycle Management (CLM) across the group.
Collaborate with the legal operations team to identify and implement process improvements and tools for legal services.
Provide support for dispute and conflict resolution in contracting prior to debt collection or litigation.
Execute any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate Diploma in Law and admission to the Bar in a relevant jurisdiction is required.
Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) or a related field is an added advantage.
3–5 years of relevant professional experience in an in-house legal role or a reputable law firm.
Previous experience or exposure within the telecommunications or data center industry is highly advantageous.
Bilingual proficiency is mandatory: must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
