Role Overview
Embu County Government is seeking a highly qualified medical professional for the position of Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services / Medical Specialist 1, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. This is a senior-level role within the county health department, responsible for providing specialized clinical care and leadership in reproductive health services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized medical consultations and clinical care in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Perform surgical procedures related to the specialty.
Manage complex pregnancies, labor, and delivery cases.
Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, interns, and other healthcare providers.
Participate in the formulation and implementation of health policies and standards within the county.
Maintain high standards of patient care and ensure clinical safety protocols are followed.
Handle administrative duties related to the Senior Assistant Director position.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynecology or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Valid National Identity Card.
Possession of Academic and Professional Certificates and Testimonials.
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, requiring clearance from:
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
