About the Role
Taita Taveta University is seeking to recruit two (2) Senior Administrative Assistants I to provide high-level administrative support within its various departments. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations, managing resources, and implementing best practices in public administration and corporate communication. The successful candidates will be employed on Permanent and Pensionable Terms and will be expected to demonstrate a high standard of professional performance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide administrative leadership and support in departments such as human resource management, asset management, or records management.
Implement modern management best practices, specifically focusing on performance management and productivity measurement.
Manage and maintain accurate data and institutional records.
Coordinate activities related to public relations, corporate communication, and international relations.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures to support the university's mission as an Academic Centre of Excellence.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor to facilitate departmental objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Qualification: Must possess a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or any other relevant field.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as Senior Administrative Assistant II or a comparable position in areas such as human resource management, asset management, data/records management, public relations, corporate communication, or international relations.
Technical Knowledge: Highly conversant with modern management best practices, performance management systems, and productivity measurement tools.
Work Track Record: A demonstrable track record of exemplary work performance.
Integrity: Must possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
IT Proficiency: Must be computer literate.
Terms of Service
The positions are offered on Permanent and Pensionable Terms. Successful candidates will be entitled to applicable allowances as approved by the University Council.
