The Senior Accountant role, located in Diani, is critical for managing the complete financial and accounting cycle within the hospitality sector. This involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and effective management across all company business lines. The ideal candidate must possess significant senior management experience in a hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Payroll and submit statutory deductions (i.e., SHIF, NSSF, PAYE), ensuring all employee files are kept updated and in order.
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information for all company business lines.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, and conduct full analysis of business performance versus budgeted forecast.
- Manage payables and receivables.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions originating from the inventory and store controller.
- Reconcile both Bank and Mpesa statements.
- Ensure strict adherence to legislation regarding taxes, licenses, Tourist Fund, NEMA, and VAT.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related field.
- Must hold a CPA / ACCA qualification.
- Must have at least 3 years of Senior Management experience in the Hospitality sector.
- Must be proficient in using accounting systems.
- Must possess General Accounting skills and Computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Possess good communication and time management skills.
