This role serves as the operational backbone of the finance function, working closely with the Finance & Operations Controller to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, including transaction coding, journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and fixed asset register management.
- Perform bank and mobile money reconciliations, manage petty cash, prepare cash flow updates, and flag any financial risks or discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll inputs and statutory deductions ensuring timely statutory filings, and maintain compliance documentation.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations, working papers, and support the preparation of management accounts, including variance and financial analysis.
- Analyse production costs, manage inventory reconciliations, ensure accurate stock valuation, and prepare profitability reports.
- Support audits, maintain audit-ready documentation, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to process and system improvements.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA (K) or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment, ideally in cost accounting or production finance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of manufacturing workflows, cost structures, and process-oriented environments.
- Proactive, collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
