Acorn Holdings Africa is looking for a Security Assistant to maintain a safe and secure environment within their student residences in Nairobi.
Role Overview
The Security Assistant is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the student residence. This role involves PC-enhancing customer experience, implementing security processes, participating in safety drills, and ensuring compliance with the Tenancy agreement.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
Provide a friendly and helpful presence to students, staff, and visitors.
Assist students with security-related inquiries and concerns.
Conduct foot patrols within the residence and ensure a safe and secure environment.
Participate in annual fire drill exercises to test emergency response preparedness.
Act as a first responder during emergencies.
Identify maintenance issues and escalate them to the appropriate department.
Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of reported issues.
Processes Compliance
Manage the gate pass and visitor management system to track and authorize entries and exits.
Ensure adherence to residence security protocols and procedures.
Implement and enforce security policies.
Attend and participate in security briefs, meetings, and trainings.
Teamwork and Reporting
Collaborate with the security team to address security concerns and improve safety measures.
Report any suspicious activities or security breaches to the Security Team Leader for escalation.
Maintain accurate logs and records of incidents and follow-up actions.
Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure a coordinated approach to security.
Qualifications and Experience
High school certificate (KCSE) or equivalent.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the security industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong observational skills.
Basic knowledge of security systems and procedures.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
