Role Overview
The Salesperson for the Service Business is responsible for driving growth and managing customer relationships within an assigned area. This role focuses on strengthening KONE’s market position, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective solution selling and account management.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management: Build and grow customer relationships in the assigned area and strengthen KONE’s market position.
Opportunity Generation: Identify new sales opportunities beyond existing customers and share leads with the KONE sales team for cross-selling.
Customer Satisfaction: Manage customer expectations and collaborate with teams to resolve complaints effectively.
Sales Pipeline Management: Manage requests for quotes (RFQs), track all sales activities, visits, and tasks within the CRM system, and ensure reports are accurate and timely.
Targets & Pricing: Achieve sales goals for leads, orders, and contracts while adhering to pricing and discount targets.
Contracting: Ensure KONE solutions fit customer needs and verify that final contracts match negotiated results.
Market Intelligence: Collect information on the market and competitors.
Financial Support: Assist the finance department with payment collection efforts.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A degree or higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a Business-related course is preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years of technical experience in the elevator/escalator industry is preferred. Alternatively, 2–5 years of technical experience in construction, building materials, or related customer industries.
Technical Sales: Familiarity with solution-selling methodologies and selling complex technology solutions.
Attributes: Highly motivated, goal-oriented, organized self-starter with a strong customer focus and a passion for sales.
Communication: Fluency in English is mandatory.
Licensing: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Travel: Ability to travel within Kenya approximately 30% of the time.
