As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for implementing all sales activities and maximizing business opportunities in your specific area of responsibility under general guidance and supervision. This role involves generating and maintaining customers of defined accounts and areas through strategic sales activities, including face-to-face sales calls, telephone outreach, and client entertainment. The position focuses on the leisure segment, requiring deep familiarity with the travel industry landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy and action plan based on historical, current, and future hotel/market trends.
Maintain a high level of market exposure for the hotel through consistent direct sales efforts.
Ensure complete coverage of your portfolio by managing relationships with managerial and departmental executives across all client accounts.
Reach and exceed established sales targets and objectives.
Solicit and serve both transient and group business, as well as meetings.
Adhere to selling strategies during negotiations and capitalize on up-selling opportunities.
Identify and solicit new business from international operators, travel agents, and wholesalers.
Prospect for new accounts from various sources to expand the existing client base.
Nurture and maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the properties' unique selling points, features, amenities, and policies.
Conduct scheduled sales visits as per the Sales Plan and provide daily reports.
Coordinate client information with relevant departments via site visit notification forms and lead pre-arrival internal meetings.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly activity and production reports.
Formulate corporate offer letters, yearly contracts, and other professional business correspondence.
Provide feedback on market trends, competitive shifts, and changing conditions.
Modify or develop wholesale contracts as required by market or hotel conditions.
Recommend and coordinate promotional activities as necessary.
Collaborate with the Sales team to develop marketing strategies for the leisure segment.
Attend and present at internal and external meetings.
Train, supervise, and review the performance of the wholesale coordinator.
Support other hotel operations and areas as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience: At least 1 year of experience specifically within the leisure or wholesale sales segment.
Education: Must be a graduate with a BA, BSc, or HND in Sales and Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Travel Industry landscape in Nairobi.
Technical Skills: Good computer proficiency.
Communication: Perfect command of the English language (both written and verbal) is mandatory.
Assets: Previous experience in wholesale/leisure sales is considered a significant advantage.
