SBM Bank Kenya is looking for a Relationship Manager for Elite & Diaspora Banking based in Nanyuki. The job holder is responsible for providing a relationship-based offering to high net-worth affluent individuals through a proactive, highly responsive personal approach to meet their financial needs and service expectations.
Job Purpose
The Relationship Manager will proactively promote a relationship-based offering by acting as a dedicated and primary point of contact for the customer and providing financial solutions which meet the customer’s expectations in accordance with the segment value proposition. The job holder shall leverage the group’s reach and expertise resource capabilities to add value to both the customer and the bank while maintaining a high level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition: Acquire new high net-worth affluent individuals as per the segment criteria and country strategy.
Cross-Selling: Identify cross-sell opportunities within the portfolio to maximize life cycle opportunities based on priority products.
Needs Analysis: Conduct analysis with new and existing customers to ensure product opportunities meet customer needs and goals.
Portfolio Management: Manage the portfolio to maximize revenue (fees, margins, sales) and minimize risks while entrenching the customer’s relationship with the bank.
Service Excellence: Deliver superior service aligned to SLAs and turnaround time commitments. Educate customers on self-service channels like Internet and Mobile Banking.
Credit Management: Ensure customers are well-informed regarding lending application processes (mortgages, personal loans, etc.) and credit maintenance. Take accountability for credit management including referral reports and timely reviews.
Relationship Building: Establish and strengthen one-on-one relationships to retain customers and gain referrals.
Collaboration: Coordinate with SME, Corporate, and Wealth specialists to provide holistic advice and shorten turnaround times.
Administration: Maintain proper records, ensure accurate data integrity on bank systems, and handle all portfolio-related correspondence and complaints.
Team Management: Manage subordinates (Relationship Officers/Banker Assistants) in accordance with HR best practices.
Requirements
Knowledge
Understanding of the high net-worth and affluent market (profile, lifestyle, financial needs).
Deep knowledge of segment value propositions and bank products/channels.
Thorough understanding of credit principles, application, and maintenance processes.
Knowledge of competitor products and local market financial issues.
Experience
Banking experience, preferably dealing with high net-worth individuals in a portfolio context.
Strong sales background.
Experience in upholding high levels of service and completing credit applications successfully.
