Registered Nurse III - 50 Posts

This is a role for a Registered Nurse III within the County Government of Kitui, focusing on providing comprehensive nursing care and public health services. This position offers permanent and pensionable terms of service.

Salary Scale

The salary scale is Ksh. 26,900, rising incrementally through annual steps to a maximum of Ksh. 35,380 per month.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Hold a Diploma in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution:
  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing
  • Kenya Registered Nursing
  • Kenya Registered Midwifery
  • Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery
  • Kenya Registered Nursing Mental Health and Psychiatry
• Possess a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Hold a Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Have a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse III will be responsible for a range of clinical and public health duties, including:

• Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating patient’s outcomes.
• Providing appropriate healthcare services, including Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI).
• Administering Immunization services.
• Managing Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission (PMTCT) programs.
• Providing Ante-natal care and assisting with delivery.
• Delivering health education and counselling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs.
• Referring patients and clients appropriately to specialized care when necessary.
• Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans.
• Maintaining accurate records detailing the patient’s/client’s health condition and care provided.
• Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment is maintained at all times.
• Collecting and compiling relevant health data for reporting purposes.
