The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit Registered Clinical Officers II to fill 10 vacancies. This is a critical clinical position focused on delivering comprehensive primary healthcare services across outpatient settings.

Salary Scale

Ksh. 32,700 x 1,300 – 34,000 x 1,380 – 35,380 x 1,390 – 36,770 x 1,460 – 38,230 x 1,470 – 39,700 x 1,470 – 41,170 x 1,520 – 42,690 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for a wide range of clinical and public health functions, including:

• Taking patient history, conducting examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and ordering necessary laboratory and imaging investigations.
• Interpreting laboratory and imaging results accurately.
• Treating patients suffering from common ailments at an outpatient or health facility.
• Providing community health care services in collaboration with other health workers.
• Guiding and counseling patients, clients, and staff on various health issues.
• Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health measures.
• Carrying out minor surgical procedures as permitted by training and skill.
• Collecting and compiling required clinical data.
• Preparing medico-legal briefs related to clinical services.
• Referring patients and clients to appropriate higher-level health facilities when necessary.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Hold a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Medicine and Community Health, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
• Possess a Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
• Hold a Valid Professional Practice License from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
