Inkomoko is seeking a Program Innovation Manager (Pilots) to lead cross-functional innovation projects from design through pilot implementation. This role centers on digitalization and addressing emerging client needs, particularly for young people and refugees. The manager will lead the development and testing of new tools and methodologies to enhance client outcomes and ensure successful integration into organizational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Project and Pilot Leadership
- Lead cross-functional innovation projects from design through pilot implementation, focusing on digitalization.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholders effectively.
- Develop and test new tools and methodologies to improve client outcomes.
- Ensure consistent follow-through and cross-departmental support for project implementation.
- Support the integration of pilot insights by collaborating with relevant departments to adapt procedures.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Growth Services, Investments, MERL, IT, and other departments.
- Align innovation initiatives with strategic goals to promote outcomes-driven collaboration.
- Build relationships across teams to foster ownership and momentum for innovation projects.
- Provide cross-functional support to learning initiatives, including workshops and capacity building.
Research & Evaluation
- Conduct exploratory research on client needs, external innovations, and trends to inform potential pilots.
- Define success metrics and monitor pilot performance.
- Analyze results and data to generate insights for project effectiveness.
- Conduct feedback loops and iterate based on findings.
Communication and Reporting
- Prepare reports summarizing pilot activities, results, and recommendations.
- Synthesize data into actionable insights for decision-making.
- Contribute to the development of templates and systems to increase operational efficiency.
- Contribute to donor updates and dissemination of learning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in project management and program innovation (Mandatory).
- University degree (Master's or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing pilots in a fast-growing NGO or social enterprise.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Adaptability to dynamic environments with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French, Swahili, Arabic, Somali, or Kinyarwanda is desirable.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multicultural and multi-country teams.
- Familiarity with design thinking, human-centered design (HCD), user research, or agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of economic development and displaced populations is an asset.
