The Deputy Director of Alcoholic Drinks Control at the County Government of Lamu is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the regulation, licensing, and control of alcoholic beverages within the county. This role entails ensuring public safety, health standards, and legal compliance through strategic management and administrative oversight of the directorate. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and technical competence in implementing county policies and managing public resources.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement county policies regarding alcoholic drinks control.
Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the directorate.
Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.
Manage departmental resources and lead staff in achieving county objectives.
Coordinate with public and private stakeholders to regulate the industry effectively.
Demonstrate technical and administrative competence as reflected in work performance.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: Have relevant knowledge, experience, and a distinguished career of not less than five (5) years, of which three (3) should be at a senior managerial position in the public service or equivalent in the private sector.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or any other relevant field from a recognized institution. A Master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Professional Training: Must have a certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Program Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks (or its equivalent) from a recognized institution.
IT Proficiency: A certificate in Computer applications is mandatory.
Competence: Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, technical, and administrative competence as reflected in work performance and results.
