KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit academic staff in the field of Information Systems Security and Forensics across various ranks, including Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer. These roles involve teaching, research, and curriculum development to support the university's academic excellence.
General Responsibilities Across All Ranks
- Teach and facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
- Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curriculum.
- Attract research funding through grants and collaborations and lead research teams.
- Supervise postgraduate students in their research work.
- Participate in program reviews, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior faculty and researchers.
- Serve on university committees, boards, and the senate as required.
- Administer and mark exams, assignments, and continuous assessment tests, ensuring timely record-keeping.
- Undertake continuous professional development and training.
Requirements by Position
1. Professor
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
- Research: Minimum of six (6) publications in reputable refereed journals since promotion to Associate Professor.
- Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master’s and two (2) PhD students to completion since last appointment.
- Funding: Attracted research or development funds as a Co-PI in at least two projects.
- Academic Rank: Must hold an earned PhD in a relevant field.
2. Associate Professor
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer.
- Research: Minimum of five (5) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion.
- Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) Master’s and one (1) PhD students to completion.
- Funding: Attracted research/development funds in at least two projects.
3. Senior Lecturer
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as a Lecturer OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- Research: Minimum of four (4) publications in reputable refereed journals since last appointment.
- Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master’s students to completion.
- Funding: Attracted research/development funds in at least one project.
4. Lecturer
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level, in research, or in industry.
- Research: Minimum of two (2) publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
- Academic Rank: Earned PhD in the relevant field.
