Job Description
Embu County Government is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Principal Medical Laboratory Technologist, specialized in Histopathology. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services within the county's medical facilities.
Responsibilities
Perform and supervise complex histopathological laboratory investigations and procedures.
Ensure accurate processing, staining, and microscopic examination of tissue specimens.
Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and quality control protocols.
Manage laboratory records, including specimen tracking and result documentation.
Oversee the maintenance and calibration of specialized laboratory equipment.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior laboratory staff.
Participate in clinical reviews and collaborate with other healthcare professionals for accurate patient diagnosis.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Medical Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Specialized training or professional certification in Histopathology.
Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
A valid practicing license from KMLTTB.
Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (Integrity and Ethics).
