Principal Investigations Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations into complaints involving offences committed by members of the National Police Service.
• Provide rapid response initiatives to ensure immediate action on reported incidents or complaints.
• Gather and preserve forensic and other evidence related to investigative cases.
• Coordinate investigative activities and ensure strict adherence to legal and professional standards.
• Manage and mentor junior investigation staff within the department.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive investigative reports and recommendations to the Authority for further action.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A cumulative service period of at least nine (9) years, with a minimum of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Investigations Officer (IPOA 7) or equivalent.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, Social Science, or any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Membership in a relevant professional body (where applicable).
• Proficiency in Computer Applications.
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
