Job Description
The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) is a State Corporation established under the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Act, No. 28 of 2013 under the Ministry of Education. KeNIA is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent individual to fill the position of Principal Human Resource Management Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
Providing input in the development of the human resource strategies, policies, and procedures;
Verifying and consolidating information for payroll processing;
Undertaking training needs analysis, projections and to inform on the training programmes;
Providing secretarial services to the Management Advisory Committee;
Ensuring maintenance of Human Resource records in an accurate and timely manner;
Implementing human resource management decisions within existing rules, regulations and procedures;
Managing the payroll;
Preparing and compiling reports on the implementation of the performance management systems including performance appraisal; and
Updating records of staff training and development programs.
Person Specification and Requirements
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
Served for a cumulative period of nine (9) years’ work experience, with at least three (3) years in the grade of Senior Human Resource Management Officer or in a comparable position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
OR
A Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
Registered by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM);
A Management Course from a recognized Institution; and
