Job Description
Role Overview
The Principal Administrative Officer (Revenue Supervisors/Cashiers/Billers) is a key position within the Embu County Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing administrative functions and supervising staff within the revenue department, including revenue supervisors, cashiers, and billers, to ensure effective service delivery and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of revenue supervisors, cashiers, and billers.
Manage administrative operations within the revenue collection unit.
Ensure compliance with public service regulations and county financial policies.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to revenue administration.
Facilitate efficient communication and workflow within the department.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: Served in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Education (Degree Option): A Bachelor's degree in Arts, Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or any other Social Science from a recognized institution.
Education (Diploma Option): A Diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or any other social science from a recognized institution.
Professional Training:
For Degree holders: A certificate in a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks or equivalent.
For Diploma holders: A supervisory Management course or equivalent qualification.
Technical Proficiency: A certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution.
Additional Requirements and Information
Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide original academic and professional certificates, National ID, and current Chapter Six clearance documents during the interview, including:
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
