The Plastic Plant Lead is responsible for the technical leadership, management, and operational efficiency of the plastic manufacturing facility. This senior role involves the commissioning of advanced moulding machinery, establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and managing high-speed production of PET preforms and closures using European-grade equipment. The Lead oversees the entire production lifecycle, from raw material procurement and budget management to manpower training and yield optimization.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Machine Commissioning: Lead and oversee the commissioning of Plastic Moulding Machineries.
Standard Operating Procedures: Prepare SOPs for all machines to ensure good manufacturing processes and maintain smooth operations.
Technical Oversight: Manage processing parameter settings and troubleshooting for all machines.
Reporting: Submit daily production reports and Material Yield Reports.
Workforce Management: Responsible for Plastic Plant Manpower control and providing internal training to local staff; identifying external training needs where necessary.
Resource Management: Coordinate with Stores to monitor the consumption of raw materials (RM) for optimal yield.
Financial Management: Manage the plastic plant production budgets and associated costings.
Logistics & Storage: Oversee preform and closure storage box management to ensure effective rotation between filling lines and the plastic plant.
Procurement: Identify suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing for raw and packaging materials.
Production Planning: Ensure raw material availability and coordinate mold changeovers according to the Production Plan.
Requirements
Qualifications
B.Sc. Eng. / B.E. Eng. in Plastics, Polymer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
Alternatively, a B.Sc. with a Diploma from CIPET (India) for Plastics Processing Technology.
Experience
10 to 15 years of experience in PET Preform and Closure manufacturing.
Extensive experience with high-speed European machines such as KRAUSS MAFFEI, NETSTAL, HUSKY, SACMI, or SIPA.
10 to 15 years of direct experience in Plastic Plant Operation and Maintenance.
