Equity Afia, a group of qualified and experienced medical entrepreneurs providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to Kenyans, is seeking a Pharmaceutical Technologist for its Kiserian Medical Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring professional pharmaceutical service delivery, managing medication stocks, and providing accurate guidance to patients regarding their prescriptions.
Responsibilities
Dispense medications and medical supplies to patients accurately according to prescriptions.
Provide counseling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory, including stock records and ordering to ensure availability.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for data entry, patient records, and tracking.
Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with hospital standards and regulations set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and organization within the pharmacy department.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
Experience: At least 3 years of post-internship working experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Registration: Must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and possess a valid, up-to-date practicing license.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, specifically in the use of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and the medical team.
