Role Overview
The Registered Nurse III is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care and managing patient outcomes within the healthcare facility. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions while maintaining high standards of clinical safety and hygiene. The officer will also play a key role in community health outreach, providing education and counseling to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Nursing Care & Intervention: Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions while evaluating patient outcomes to ensure quality care.
Specialized Healthcare Services: Delivering integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI), immunizations, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), and providing ante-natal and delivery care.
Patient Education & Counseling: Providing health education and counseling to patients, clients, and the community based on identified health needs.
Admissions & Referrals: Facilitating patient admissions, initiating discharge plans, and managing appropriate referrals to other health services.
Record Management: Maintaining accurate and detailed health records for patients/clients and ensuring clinical data is collected and compiled correctly.
Clinical Safety: Ensuring the clinical environment remains tidy, safe, and conducive for healthcare delivery.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for appointment, candidates must possess:
A Diploma in any of the following: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
A Registration certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
A valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
A Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
