Role Overview
Mombasa County is seeking a Medical Officer to join its public health service. This role is essential for diagnosing and treating patients, performing surgeries, and managing medical emergencies within the county's healthcare facilities. The officer will also be involved in the management of medical supplies, health education, and the mentorship of medical and nursing students.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care: Diagnose, care for, and treat diseases; perform medical and surgical procedures.
Emergency Management: Prepare and respond to medical emergencies and disasters.
Resource Management: Participate in the management of medicines, medical instruments, and equipment.
Education & Counseling: Provide health education and counsel patients and their relatives on diagnoses and bereavement.
Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records, health information, and data; prepare requisite documents for registration.
Mentorship: Teach and coach medical students, nursing students, and clinical officer interns.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B; Ch.B.) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Successful completion of a one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
Registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Valid practicing license.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
