As a Partnership Facilitator I, you will serve as an entry-level professional acting as a liaison to the local church. Your role involves assisting in strengthening local ownership, capacity, and resources of local church partners to minister to children and youth in their own context. You will be responsible for nurturing relationships characterized by mutual respect, trust, and service that builds up church ministry. You will learn how to facilitate relationships through the Partner Management core process, for improving achievement of church outcomes, and for bringing a developmental mindset to all other aspects of the partnership. At this level, you will still be learning and assisting with facilitating church partnerships for your assigned location and will generally work under the guidance of your supervisor or a more experienced facilitator.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n* Child Advocacy: Act as an advocate to raise awareness of children's needs and prioritize child protection in all decision-making and activities across the ministry.\n* Community Engagement: Build trust and credibility with pastoralist and local communities by respecting cultural norms, using local languages, and working within established authority structures.\n* Field Operations: Operate effectively in remote, resource-limited, and high-temperature environments, managing long travel distances and limited infrastructure.\n* Safeguarding & Child Protection: Uphold child protection standards, advocate for children’s rights and education, and support the mitigation of harmful cultural practices in alignment with local governance systems.\n* Conflict Sensitivity: Navigate inter-community tensions with neutrality and fairness, applying peacebuilding approaches that foster reconciliation and coexistence.\n* Risk Management: Exercise sound judgment under pressure, making balanced decisions in complex or emotionally charged situations.\n* Sustainable Development: Support long-term community transformation by aligning initiatives with community-driven processes.\n* Church Partnership & Empowerment: Serve as a liaison to local church partners, supporting their ownership, capacity, and maturity in child and youth ministry.\n* Program Cycle Support: Assist church partners through all phases of the program cycle: needs assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.\n* Cluster Coordination: Facilitate collaboration among clusters of churches and coordinate with Church Facing Team (CFT) members to provide tailored support.\n* Accountability: Ensure delivery of Compassion’s commitments to churches and support process improvements based on feedback and metrics.\n* Capacity Building: Help churches engage parents, caregivers, youth, and community stakeholders in ministry design and implementation.\n\n### Requirements\n* Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology, Development Studies, Community Development, Human Geography or any other closely related field.\n* One to two years of work experience in a professional setting.\n* Prior experience working with youth and in safeguarding and child protection.\n* Strong understanding of local governance systems with commitments to children’s rights, education and mitigation of harmful practices.\n* Currently based in Turkana and/or prior experience working there in a field based role.\n* Proven cultural intelligence and credibility; experience engaging effectively with pastoralist communities.\n* Demonstrated capacity to operate in remote, resource-limited environments, exercising sound judgment under pressure.\n* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\n* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.\n* Ability to travel up to 50% of schedule.
