Amref International University (AMIU) is seeking to engage TVET trainers on a part-time basis for its TVET Directorate. The trainer is expected to be available to teach, assess, and mentor students within the Environmental Sciences program.
Principal Responsibilities
Instruct trainees in specific courses and units in adherence to the respective curriculum and occupational standards.
Plan, conduct, and assess practical sessions for assigned course units.
Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and lecture notes.
Prepare internal exams, conduct validation, and perform continuous assessments.
Supervise and assess trainees in their course areas and during industrial attachments.
Mark, grade, and enter grades into the ERP system for assigned units.
Prepare trainees for external exams by providing practical technical skills required for competency acquisition.
Maintain appropriate records for the directorate, TVET CDACC, or other relevant bodies.
Adhere to exam preparation and processing schedules and attend all class contact hours.
Provide student mentorship and participate in internal and external examination invigilation.
Monitor class attendance records and perform any other duties as assigned by the HOD or Director.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences.
Relevant teaching experience of at least 2 years in a TVET institution.
Must hold a Certificate in Pedagogy or be registered by TVETA as a trainer.
2 years of industry experience is an added advantage.
