The TVET Directorate of Amref International University (AMIU) is seeking to engage TVET trainers on a part-time basis. The trainer is expected to be available to teach, assess, and mentor students within the Counselling Psychology program.
Principal Responsibilities
Instruction and Delivery: Instruct trainees in the specific course(s)/units in adherence to the respective curriculum and occupational standards.
Practical Training: Plan, conduct, and assess practical sessions in the assigned course units.
Lesson Preparation: Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and provide lecture notes.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare internal exams, conduct validation of exams, and carry out continuous assessments.
Grading and Records: Mark, grade, and enter student results into the ERP system for the assigned units.
Supervision: Supervise and assess trainees in their course area and during industrial attachments.
Technical Skill Development: Prepare trainees for external exams by providing practical technical skills required for effective competency acquisition.
Compliance: Maintain appropriate records and make them available as required by the directorate and TVET CDACC or any other relevant body.
Administrative Duties: Adhere to the exam preparation and processing schedule and ensure attendance for all assigned class contact hours.
Student Mentorship: Provide mentorship to students and participate in internal and external examination invigilation.
Academic Monitoring: Monitor class attendance records and perform any other duties as assigned by the HOD or Director.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
Professional Registration: Must be registered and licensed by the Counsellors and Psychologist board.
Experience: Relevant teaching experience of at least 2 years in a TVET institution.
Certification: Must be a holder of a Certificate in Pedagogy or registered by TVETA as a trainer.
Additional Advantage: 2 years of industry experience will be an added advantage.
