Job Description
Nursing Officers at the Machakos County Public Service Board are responsible for providing holistic and comprehensive nursing care to patients across their lifespan. This role involves carrying out risk identifications, conducting physical examinations, and implementing evidence-based nursing care plans. The officers work within interdisciplinary teams and engage with communities to ensure high-quality healthcare delivery and safety for all patients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide holistic care by carrying out risk identification and assessment of individuals throughout their lifespan.
Perform comprehensive physical examinations within various clinical and community settings.
Assess, formulate, plan, and implement evidence-based nursing care for clients and patients.
Create and maintain a safe nursing care environment for patients.
Carry out patient audits to improve the quality of patient care.
Collaborate and maintain effective working relationships among interdisciplinary teams to support patients and their families.
Engage in therapeutic communication with patients and clients.
Conduct community health risk assessments and provide outcome-based interventions.
Document all nursing interventions and patient outcomes accurately.
Participate in quality improvement and quality assurance procedures.
Diagnose common health conditions and recommend necessary medical interventions.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s Degree in either Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
