We are seeking a Nurse In-charge for a covering role to maintain our high standards of safety, integrity, and excellence.
The Nurse In-charge (Covering Role) is responsible for taking overall charge of the ward or unit during assigned shifts, ensuring high-quality clinical care and efficient staff coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Management: Take overall charge of the ward/unit during the assigned shift.
Staff Coordination: Coordinate nursing staff and allocate duties effectively within the unit.
Patient Care Quality: Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate patient care.
Clinical Supervision: Supervise medication administration and oversee all clinical procedures.
Operations: Manage incidents, escalations, and ensure professional shift handovers.
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with hospital policies and professional nursing standards.
Inter-departmental Liaison: Liaise with doctors and other hospital departments as required to facilitate patient management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Licensing: Valid and current license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience.
Leadership: Prior experience (at least 2 years) in a supervisory or in-charge role is an added advantage.
Core Competencies: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Flexibility: Ability to work flexible shifts at short notice.
Availability: Immediate availability is an added advantage.
