Job Description
This role is for a Medical Social Worker III within the County Government of Kitui, focusing on providing essential psychosocial support and counseling to patients.
Role Information
This position offers Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
Salary Scale: Ksh. 26,900 x 1,110 – 28,010 x 1,120 – 29,130 x 1,150 – 30,280 x 1,170 – 31,450 x 1,250 – 32,700 x 1,300 – 34,000 x 1,380 – 35,380 per month.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
Addressing the psychosocial effects as related to patient’s diagnosis, prognosis, and future resettlement.
Counseling of patients, especially in cases associated with pandemic diseases, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy, etc.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Be a Kenyan Citizen.
Hold a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C or its equivalent qualification.
Possess a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Mental Health, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
