Equity Afia is a network of medical entrepreneurs comprising qualified and experienced doctors who have come together with the aim of providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to the majority of Kenyans.
Role Overview
The Medical Officer - Biashara will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, making critical clinical decisions, and managing patients effectively. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, up-to-date certifications, and a solid understanding of Kenyan healthcare policies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical diagnostic and patient management services.
Make sound clinical decisions and manage patient treatment plans effectively.
Ensure proper healthcare documentation and adhere to reporting procedures.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for patient records and data management.
Maintain compliance with the laws of Kenya, medical guidelines, regulations, and health schemes.
Prepare and write clear, accurate medical reports.
Communicate and interact effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders to support seamless clinical operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized university (MBChB or MBBS).
Registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) with a valid practicing license.
At least one (1) year of internship experience in either a public or private hospital.
Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Familiarity with Kenyan healthcare laws, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.
Proficiency in computer skills, especially Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Strong report-writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
