Job Description
Equity Afia is a network of medical entrepreneurs consisting of qualified and experienced doctors who have come together to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to Kenyans. We are seeking a Medical Officer to join our team at the Kiserian Medical Centre.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical care and manage patient treatment plans.
Conduct clinical decision-making and ensure effective patient management.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation and healthcare reporting.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for clinical and administrative tasks.
Ensure compliance with national healthcare policies, laws, and regulations.
Participate in and lead emergency interventions using BLS and ACLS protocols.
Foster positive interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and other healthcare stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from a recognized university.
Must be registered and hold a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
At least one (1) year of internship experience in either a public or private hospital.
Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Health Management Information Systems.
Knowledge of Kenyan healthcare laws, regulations, guidelines, and various health schemes.
Desirable Competencies
Minimum of two (2) years of professional clinical experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a medical setting.
Strong report-writing and communication skills.
Familiarity with both public and private healthcare sectors.
