Role Overview
Embu County Government is seeking to recruit a Medical Officer to join its healthcare service team. This role is central to the delivery of high-quality medical services to the residents of Embu County, involving patient diagnosis, treatment, and management within county health facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in outpatient and inpatient departments.
Manage and stabilize medical emergencies and perform essential clinical procedures.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient medical records and reports.
Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Refer patients to specialized care facilities as necessary.
Ensure all clinical activities adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics and legal requirements.
Participate in clinical audits and community health outreach programs as directed by the county health department.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must have a degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Medicine (e.g., MBChB) or a related field from a recognized university.
Must be registered with the relevant professional body (Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council).
Must possess a valid National Identity Card.
Must provide Academic and Professional Certificates along with Testimonials.
Candidates will be required to provide original academic and professional certificates, ID, and current Chapter Six clearance documents during the interview stage, including clearances from:
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
