Medical Officer

Embu County Government is seeking to recruit a Medical Officer to join its healthcare service team. This role is central to the delivery of high-quality medical services to the residents of Embu County, involving patient diagnosis, treatment, and management within county health facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in outpatient and inpatient departments.
• Manage and stabilize medical emergencies and perform essential clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient medical records and reports.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Refer patients to specialized care facilities as necessary.
• Ensure all clinical activities adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics and legal requirements.
• Participate in clinical audits and community health outreach programs as directed by the county health department.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must have a degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Medicine (e.g., MBChB) or a related field from a recognized university.
• Must be registered with the relevant professional body (Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council).
• Must possess a valid National Identity Card.
• Must provide Academic and Professional Certificates along with Testimonials.
• Candidates will be required to provide original academic and professional certificates, ID, and current Chapter Six clearance documents during the interview stage, including clearances from:
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
