The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit seven (7) Medical Officers. This role involves providing comprehensive medical care, ranging from diagnosis and treatment to performing surgical procedures and responding to emergencies, contributing significantly to public health service delivery within the county.

Salary and Terms of Service

• Salary Scale: Ksh. 50,610 x 2,350 – 52,960 x 2,550 – 55,510 x 2,850 – 58,360 x 2,750 – 61,110 x 2,920 – 64,030 x 3,080 – 67,110 per month (p.m.).
• Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Medical Officer, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing, caring for, and treating diseases.
• Performing medical and surgical procedures.
• Preparing for and responding to emergencies and disasters.
• Participating in the management of medicines, medical instruments, and equipment.
• Providing health education.
• Maintaining medical records, health information, and data.
• Counselling patients and their relatives on diagnoses and bereavement.
• Teaching and coaching medical students, nursing students, and clinical officer interns.
• Preparing requisite documents for professional registration.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
• Possess a registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Hold a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience is required.
