• Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Technologist III will be responsible for the following key functions:

• Decontaminating working benches to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
• Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens for accuracy and completeness.
• Preparing clients for the proper collection of specimens.
• Receiving, collecting, labeling, and registering of specimens.
• Disaggregating specimens for various processing and analyses.
• Preparing necessary reagents and stains.
• Conducting examinations and analyses of specimens.
• Writing and recording of results accurately.
• Dispatching the results promptly for use in clinical management.
• Performing blood grouping procedures.
• Issuing blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities.
• Storing blood products strictly according to their specific requirements.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Hold a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board (KMLTTB).
• Possess a Registration Certificate issued by the KMLTTB.
• Hold a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board.
• Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
