The Medical Claims Analyst is responsible for analyzing medical claims and ensuring the smooth flow of work in line with the departmental requirements to achieve overall business objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
Claim Recording & Verification: Ensuring daily recording of incoming medical bills and checking corresponding policies in line with the claim.
Reconciliation: Reconciliation of Medical service providers' accounts and reconciling of claim statements from stakeholders for correct position of their accounts.
Claim Processing: Registration of claims and reserving adequate estimates; ensuring the ailment is covered under the policy and that the treatment and drugs dispensed are in line with guidelines.
Tax Compliance: Ensuring the with-holding Tax by Doctors is complied with before cheque dispatch.
Authenticity: Ensuring the appointment of investigators for authenticity of questionable claims and ensuring the facility is registered within the medical practitioners and dentists board.
Approval & Vetting: Preparing claim notes for vetting by the medical personnel and approval/comments by the HOD.
Settlement: Ensuring dispatch of discharge vouchers to clients and communicating liability in writing; ensuring claims are settled within approved company guidelines and proper dispatch of settlement cheques.
Administrative Duties: Ensuring that the files are sent back to the filing room and preparing remittances for any Medical claims cheques before dispatch.
Stakeholder Management: Ensuring proper records of outgoing settlement cheques and ensuring service providers meet agreed service timelines.
Customer Service: Ensuring excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Undergraduate Degree in any Related Field.
Professional qualification in Insurance (AIIK).
Professional qualification in Accounting (CPA).
At least 2 years of relevant experience in medical claims handling.
