The Medical Claims Analyst is responsible for analyzing medical claims and ensuring a smooth workflow within the department to achieve Kenindia Assurance Company Limited's overall business objectives. This role involves critical verification, financial reconciliation, and compliance checks on medical claims.
Principal Accountabilities
Daily Recording: Ensuring daily recording of all incoming medical bills.
Policy Verification: Receiving claims and checking them against corresponding policies to ensure the ailment and treatments are covered.
Financial Reconciliation: Reconciling medical service provider accounts and ensuring withholding tax for doctors is complied with before payment.
Claim Registration: Registering claims and reserving adequate estimates.
Medical Vetting: Preparing claim notes for vetting by medical personnel and obtaining approval or comments from the Head of Department.
Investigation: Appointing investigators to verify the authenticity of questionable claims.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring medical facilities are registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Stakeholder Communication: Dispatching discharge vouchers to clients, communicating liability in writing, and managing the dispatch of settlement cheques.
Administrative Duties: Ensuring files are returned to the filing room and maintaining records of outgoing cheques and remittances.
Customer Service: Providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Undergraduate Degree in any related field.
Professional Certifications: AIIK (Association of Insurance Institutes of Kenya) and CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in medical claims analysis or insurance.
