Mechanical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain an updated workshop inventory.
• Ensure overall maintenance and good working condition of equipment and facilities within the designated work station.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and general layout of the workstation.
• Issue and receive tools and equipment to and from trainers and trainees.
• Report to section heads on delays, problems, required materials/equipment, and progress on practical requisitions.
• Prepare and assemble practical materials for training sessions.
• Ensure safety of the workshop and equipment.
• Supervise trainees and attachees to enforce safety measures in the workshop.
• Carry out maintenance in other areas within the institute as needed based on technical knowledge.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience with a reputable institution.
• Knowledge in operating Milling and Lathe Machines (Both conventional and CNC).
• Certificate in welding and fabrication is an added advantage.
• Registered with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
• Computer literate.
• Above 25 years of age.
