The Maintenance Mechanic, Senior I (Tier 4) is responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTVs), Light Vehicles, and Construction Equipment. The role involves performing adjustments, tests, inspections, and diagnostic assessments to ensure all equipment is operational and safe. Work may be conducted in workshops, job sites, or field locations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair: Provide maintenance and repair services for Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTVs) and construction equipment. Perform adjustments, tests, inspections, and installations on Light Vehicles.
Diagnostics: Conduct diagnostic assessments and complete all necessary service work for equipment troubleshooting.
Support Services: Assist in the preparation of commodities and equipment prior to redeployment following established policies and procedures.
Logistics: Safely load and unload vehicles for transporting to different sites.
Documentation: Complete required paperwork, including work orders, parts requisitions, and detailed inspection reports.
Leadership and Training: Assist other technicians with advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution. Serve as a team leader for major assembly/disassembly tasks and large-scale repairs.
Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring strict compliance with all work area safety requirements.
Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress and service needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred. Possession of KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of related maintenance and mechanical experience.
Certifications: May require an H8 ASI or equivalent vehicle recovery course depending on the specific project location requirements.
