The Maintenance Intern will assist the technical team in ensuring the optimal performance of critical cooling and refrigeration infrastructure. This role involves hands-on support in monitoring systems, conducting preventive maintenance, and participating in diagnostic procedures for various mechanical and electrical components within a perishable logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
System Monitoring: Assist HVAC and maintenance workers in monitoring and inspecting cooling systems, vacuum coolers, and cold rooms to ensure proper operation.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct general preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting seals.
Diagnostics: Assist in diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in refrigeration cycles and control systems.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations of the company, specifically regarding pressurized systems and refrigerants.
Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of temperature readings, repairs, and refrigerant usage.
Requirements
Degree or Higher National Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Ability to diagnose and solve problems.
A team player with the ability to work well in a small dynamic maintenance team.
Self-motivated, confident, creative, disciplined with attention to detail.
Ability to cope with stressful situations.
Solid reporting and communication skills.
