The Technical Supervisor will supervise all engineering tasks assigned to technicians, ensuring that works are carried out to the required standard and in a timely manner. The role involves managing preventive maintenance schedules, maintaining equipment records, and ensuring a safe working environment for all technical staff.
Responsibilities
Supervise all engineering tasks assigned to technicians to ensure quality and timeliness.
Ensure the preventive maintenance schedule is adhered to and that proper records of tasks are kept in the Occurrence Book (OB) and maintenance board.
Ensure technicians carry out tasks safely with no incidents or accidents, including the proper use of the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) system.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of plant equipment condition through continuous monitoring and specific inspections (vibration analysis, noise, temperature, and electrical/mechanical measurements).
Prepare daily work schedules for PM tasks using MS Excel and monitor equipment history files.
Counter-check parameter settings (e.g., alarm levels) for all critical equipment and new installations.
Perform on-call duties for Electrical and Mechanical works.
Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Must have a Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Must have a KCSE grade of C+ and above.
Minimum of 3 years’ work experience specifically within the dairy industry.
Knowledge in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and factory installations.
Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
