Reporting to the Director of the National Products Research Centre (NPRC), the Machine Operator (Grade III/IV) will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment. The role involves adhering to strict manufacturing standards and ensuring the efficient production of herbal materials through technical expertise in mechanical or electrical systems. The successful candidate will maintain current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all equipment under their care. Key duties include participating in both primary and secondary processing of herbal materials, developing and maintaining comprehensive service schedules for all packaging and processing machinery, and keeping a meticulous inventory of equipment, accessories, and spare parts. Candidates must have a Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering, a KCSE mean Grade of D- or above, and relevant working experience in a technical firm. Familiarity with nutraceutical processing equipment, distillers, and fixed oil expellers is highly desirable. Computer literacy is required. The terms of service include a basic salary and house allowance.
