Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer in Physics (Grade 12). The University is the successor of Murang’a University College and is strategically located in Murang’a County. This role involves academic instruction, research, and administrative participation within the Physics department.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of Physics.
Conduct original research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
Develop and update course curricula to maintain academic relevance and industry standards.
Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations at various levels.
Participate in departmental activities, committee meetings, and university governance as required.
Provide academic mentorship and guidance to students.
Engage in community outreach and professional development initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
Option 1: Have an earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Physics or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university. Must be registered or registerable by the relevant professional body (where applicable).
Option 2: Have a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university (considered in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
Publications: Have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) of them from refereed journal papers.
Professionalism: Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
