Kisii University is seeking a dedicated and qualified Lecturer in Obstetrics/Gynecology to join our academic team. The successful candidate will contribute to the university's mission of training high-level human resources and advancing social welfare through academic excellence and research. The role involves teaching, research, and community service within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and assess courses in relevant medical disciplines (including Medical Physiology) to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Supervise postgraduate students' research and academic progress.
Initiate, promote, and participate in departmental research projects.
Attend and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences in relevant fields.
Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the department.
Participate in departmental and School Board meetings and other related activities.
Conduct community service and initiate professional linkages.
Any other official duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications
A relevant Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
A Master's degree or its equivalent in the relevant field (Obstetrics/Gynecology) from a recognized University/College is mandatory.
A PhD in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
Must be registered by a relevant professional body.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution regarding integrity and leadership.

Excellent command of the subject area, including adept lesson planning.
