Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This role involves educating the next generation of medical professionals while contributing to the field through clinical practice and research. The successful candidate will balance academic teaching, clinical supervision of trainees, and scholarly research within the university's medical programs and affiliated teaching hospitals.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
Participate in clinical teaching and supervision of trainees.
Conduct research and publish scholarly work in refereed journals.
Participate in curriculum development and various academic activities.
Provide clinical services in affiliated teaching hospitals to bridge theory and practice.
Participate in departmental academic programs and ongoing professional development activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or an equivalent specialist qualification from a recognized university.
Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) with a valid practicing license.
Evidence of at least two publications in refereed scholarly journals, OR one refereed journal publication and one scholarly book chapter.
Demonstrated potential for academic research and postgraduate training.
Evidence of continuous professional development, including participation in academic conferences, research presentations, clinical teaching activities, and academic workshops.
Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification.
Terms of Service
The terms of service include a competitive remuneration package which includes a basic salary, house allowance, medical cover as per University Scheme and Leave allowance.
