Amref International University (AMIU) was established in 2017 as a Premier Pan African University of health sciences fully owned by Amref Health Africa. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Lecturer in Midwifery to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for academic instruction, student mentorship, and contributing to the university's research and community service objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Training: Deliver high-quality instruction in the field of Midwifery to students.
Curricula Development: Participate in the development and periodic review of academic curricula.
Research and Extension: Actively engage in research activities and community extension programs.
Fundraising: Support and participate in fundraising activities within the Department.
Student Mentoring: Provide supervision and mentoring to students to support their academic and professional growth.
Professional Development: Stay updated with current trends through continuous professional development activities.
Other Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department on behalf of the Vice Chancellor.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education: Must hold a Master of Science in Midwifery.
PhD Status: Must be currently enrolled as a PhD student.
Licensure: Must hold a valid practice license and be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing training/teaching and at least 2 years of clinical practice experience.
Technical Skills: Proven experience in curriculum development, evaluation, and supporting virtual learning environments (VLE).
