Pwani University is seeking to recruit two (2) Lecturers in Physiology. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and supervising students and staff within the department. This position offers either permanent and pensionable terms or a three-year renewable performance-based contract, depending on age, citizenship, and other relevant factors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of Physiology.
Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Supervise students and staff in their academic and research activities.
Design and develop academic programs and curricula.
Contribute to university and departmental management through participation in meetings, committee memberships, and advisory roles.
Provide academic and research advising to students.
Engage in community involvement and outreach activities (e.g., serving as a member of a Board of Governors).
Requirements for Appointment
Academic Qualifications: Applicants must possess a BSc, MSc, or PhD in Physiology or a closely related field.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a university or research institution setting.
Professional Membership: Must be a member of relevant professional bodies for at least three (3) years.
Institutional Contribution: Evidence of contribution to a University or Research Institution through activities such as departmental management, student advising, or committee participation.
Community Involvement: Demonstrated involvement in community service.
Research & Publications: Having participated in a research project and having at least one publication will be considered an added advantage.
